As reported by the Chinese Embassy in Namibia, the handover certificate signing ceremony for the Chinese-aided Satellite Data Reception Station and Processing System Construction Project in Namibia, undertaken with the participation of Harbin Topfrp, was held in Windhoek on November 20. This project is the first high-tech sector initiative aided by China in Namibia and holds significant importance for supporting Namibia’s scientific and technological development. H.E. Ambassador Zhao Weiping of the Chinese Embassy in Namibia and Deputy Executive Director Mundia of Namibia’s Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture jointly signed the project handover certificate.
The project is equipped with a 12-meter diameter dual-band radome developed and manufactured by Topfrp. This radome successfully passed the factory acceptance tests in March 2024 and completed on-site installation and commissioning in Namibia in August 2024.
